A Personal Invitation from Tereza Bernardová, Instructor and Head of inSpiral Dance Company
Dear dancers, friends, and Irish dance enthusiasts,
I warmly invite you to join us for the very first inSpiral Summer Camp – a unique event we’re organizing under our own banner. It’s not just about dance; it’s about spending time together, enjoying movement, laughter, friendship, and those unforgettable moments that happen when a group of amazing people come together around a shared love of Irish dance.
For us at inSpiral, dance is more than a hobby. It’s a way to be present – in our bodies and in the moment. It’s a path of learning, growing through challenges, and celebrating the little victories along the way. And Irish dance? It holds something magical – a blend of rhythm, elegance, tradition, and vibrant energy that grabs hold of you and doesn’t let go.
Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced dancer, I believe you’ll leave this week not only with new skills, but also new friends, fresh inspiration, and the feeling that you’ve become part of something bigger.
inSpiral Dance Company is an international community – dancers from different countries meet regularly, support one another, and share their passion and creativity. The summer camp is one of those special moments when this community truly comes alive.
I’m looking forward to days full of dance, laughter, and the joy of summer – shared with all of you!

Irish dance for public
Curious about Irish dance? Come and try it out in our classes open for public. No previous experience needed, just a willingness to move, have fun, and discover something new!

Irish social dances
Irish set dancing
We’ll teach you the basic steps, how to move with a partner and within a group, and you’ll get to dance some simple, fun figures from traditional Irish set dances right away.
Set dancing is dynamic and rhythmic, yet pleasantly relaxed – perfect for anyone looking to clear their head and get moving after a busy day.
It’s a great activity not only for your physical fitness, but also for your mental wellbeing. And because it’s danced in a group, it naturally strengthens social bonds – you’ll meet new people, make friends, and share lots of laughs.
No previous dance experience is needed, anyone can join in!
When: Monday-Thursday, 18:30-20:00
Total time: 6 hours
Fee: 1300 CZK / €50
Solo dance style
Sean nós dancing
In these classes, you’ll learn the basic steps and rhythmic elements that form the foundation of sean-nós dancing. Everything is explained slowly and clearly, so you can follow along with ease.
Through simple foot taps, you’ll create rhythms with your feet to match the music, while also working with a relaxed body and natural movement.
And the best part? Everyone dances in their own way! Sean-nós is all about personal expression, the joy of movement, and most importantly – you don’t need to be a pro to enjoy it to the fullest.
Perfect for complete beginners who’ve never tried the style before, as well as improvers looking to build on their basics.
When: Monday-Thursday 17:00-18:30
Total time: 6 hours
Fee: 1560 CZK / €60

Solo dance style
Irish step dancing: first steps
In these classes, we’ll focus on the absolute basics of Irish step dancing in what’s called “soft shoes” – light dance shoes that allow for quick and graceful movement. We’ll go through everything step by step, at a relaxed pace, with an emphasis on enjoying the movement.
You’ll learn fundamental steps that form the building blocks of Irish dance – steps you can later use in solo choreography or even in céilí dances (group dances often seen at socials or parties).
It’s a dance that pulls you in with rhythm – while also strengthening your body and refreshing your mind.
Start right where you are – no previous experience needed. Just bring a willingness to learn something new and comfortable shoes!
Classes are open to complete beginners of all ages.
When: Monday-Thursday, 17:00-18:30
Total time: 6 hours
Fee: 1560 CZK / €60

Frequently asked questions
Let us know, if you have any other questions and we will be happy to answer them.
1. How do I pay for the camp? You can pay by bank transfer or PayPal. To secure your spot, you need to pay 50% of the total fee by June 15, 2025. This deposit is non-refundable. The remaining 50% must be paid by June 30, 2025.
2. How do I choose which classes to register for? If you're a competitive dancer from inSpiral, you're expected to attend both soft shoe and hard shoe classes. It’s possible to mix levels – for example, soft shoe at Intermediate/Open and hard shoe at Beginner/Primary. Each part (soft/hard) is registered for separately.
3. Are the contemporary dance classes open to the public? No, these are exclusively for inSpiral dancers and are only offered as supplementary lessons alongside Irish step dancing.
4. Can inSpiral dancers also join public classes? Yes! Dancers from inSpiral are welcome to join public classes as well. You can mix and match your lessons. For complete beginners, we recommend combining multiple styles – for example, set dancing and sean-nós dancing complement each other beautifully. If you're more interested in the modern style (step dancing), we’ll be teaching basic steps and combinations in soft shoes. We’ll continue with all three styles in the fall, so anything you learn at camp can be developed further in our regular classes.
5. I am complete beginner. What would you recommend? For complete beginners, we recommend combining multiple styles – for example, set dancing and sean-nós dancing complement each other beautifully. If you're more interested in the modern style (step dancing), we’ll be teaching basic steps and combinations in soft shoes. We’ll continue with all three styles in the fall, so anything you learn at camp can be developed further in our regular classes.
6. Can children join the camp? We have a separate week-long day camp for kids (July 28 – August 1) called “Heroes and Princesses in Motion.” Older children (around 12 years and up) can also join beginner-level adult classes at the summer camp.
