About us

inSpiral Dance Company has a dynamic team of teachers, Tereza Bernardová and Andrej Mikulka,  who are also its founders. Both, Tereza and Andrej hold „Master Degree in Dance Performance“ from Irish World Academy of Music and Dance in University of Limerick in Ireland. Tereza is also a certified Irish dance teacher (TCRG) registered with the Irish Dancing commision „An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha" in Ireland.

Tereza and Andrej used to live in Ireland for several years. Their main focus was on Irish dance and they had the opportunity to work with well known and accomplished dancers and musicians on Irish dance and music scene. Both performed and toured with several dance shows with Irish productions and are sought after dancers and instructors in Irish dance world.

She has been doing Irish dance for fifteen years. She has broaden her knowledge and learnt her skills from qualified and accomplished individuals well known in the Irish dance and music circuits during her eight-year stay in Great Britain and Ireland. Tereza is certified Irish dance teacher (T.C.R.G.) registered with An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha and also holds a Master degree (First Class Hons.) in "Irish Traditional Dance Performance" from the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance in University of Limerick in Ireland.

Tereza performs with Irish dance shows "Ragús the Show" and "Pulses of Tradition", and as a sean nós dancer she has previously performed with "Rhythm of the Dance". She made her appearance on TG4 (Irish national television) in programmes such as "An Samhraid Linn", "Gradam Ceoil", "Step Beo". As a sean nós dancer she presented her skill during the third series of TG4's all Ireland talent competition "An Jig Gig" and won the second place in the final round.

From 2003-2010 she won number of trophies and medals at feisanna in Europe, UK and Ireland. She competed in the World, All Ireland and Great Britain Championships several times. In 2009 she became Connacht Champion. She competed under Anne-Marie Cunningham Irish Dance Academy in Prague, Delaney Academy in London and Hession School of Dance in Galway, Ireland.

Tereza has been actively popularising Irish dancing in the Czech Republic and abroad. Apart from tuition in the Czech Republic, inSpiral Dance Company has expanded also to Finland and Germany. Tereza led previously number of dance classes and workshops abroad. Blas Summer School in Ireland is among the most prestigious event she has been invited to give Masterclasses. Bernard's family has been promoting Irish dancing and music in the Czech Republic for a long time. Their most successful project so far has been the Bernard's Summer School.

Mikulka
MA

 

spent 7 years in Ireland, studying Irish Traditional Dance and Tap Dance. He holds a first class honours M.A. in Dance Performance from the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick, Ireland.

While in Ireland, Andrej founded Step Scene Dance Company and created a dance project Step Fans, which was supported by the Arts Council Ireland.
